The MidCoast Watersheds Council at its August meeting—online and open to all—is sponsoring talk on “Prescribed Fire on the Oregon Coast: the Case of Cascade Head.” The event takes place on Thursday, Aug. 5, 6:30 p.m.
Speaking will be Aaron Groth, regional fire specialist for OSU Extension Services. He will be joined by Debbie Pickering, the Nature Conservancy’s Oregon coast ecologist. They will discuss the uses of prescribed fire as an ecological tool, and describe its history at Cascade Head.
