The Southcoast Striders are offering a hike beginning at Sunset Bay State Park on Sunday, June 26. The event is free and open to all; meet at the Sunset Bay Day Use Area at 9:30 a.m.
The hike will start at Sunset Bay and follow the Coast Trail to Shore Acres. Those who want a short hike can then backtrack to the Sunset Bay parking lot.
For a longer hike, continue with the group from Shore Acres onto the Perimeter Trail, and thence to the Cape Arago Pack Trail. Hikers will then continue down this trail toward Simpson Beach, and then back to Shore Acres. The longer hike is about eight miles.
Sunset Bay State Park is on the Cape Arago Highway south of Charleston. Follow signs from Hwy 101.
While the hike is open to the public, you must register.
