The North Coast Communities for Watershed Protection (NCCWP) are offering a webinar, “It’s Spray Season,” for those concerned about water quality.  The online event, free and open to all, takes place on Wednesday, July 27, at 6 p.m.

Toxicologist Deke Gundersen will explore the detrimental effects of pesticide spraying in watersheds of Oregon’s North Coast. Dr. Gundersen is Director of the Environmental Studies Department at Pacific University. He has acted as a consultant to NCCWP in the past.

The meeting will also include an update on the NCCWP’s efforts to end clearcut logging and pesticide spraying in watersheds that provide drinking water to their communities, regardless of land ownership. They will discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities (including a petition effort in the works) and direct actions you can take to protect forests, watersheds and the health of our communities.
