The Cape Perpetua Land-Sea Symposium will be resuming as an in-person event for its 10th annual celebration this year. The event will take place at the Yachats Commons (441 U.S. 101, Yachats) on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m.
The Land-Sea Symposium is a community event aimed at promoting local stewardship efforts and raising awareness about current research being conducted within the marine reserve. The event is sponsored by the Cape Perpetua Collaborative. CoastWatch, along with many other organizations engaged in monitoring and protecting the environment of the cape, its offshore marine reserve, and its surrounding forests and watersheds, participates each year.
"This year's symposium will be a celebration of 10 years of Oregon's Marine Reserves and the 10th anniversary of the Land-Sea Symposium. The keynote, other speakers, and storytellers will share science, stories, and passion about the Cape Perpetua Area and Marine Reserve. Food and drink, 'A Taste of Yachats', will be provided by the Oregon Coast Visitors Association's Food Trail."
Speakers and agenda to be released soon.
This is a free event, open to all ages. RSVP in advance to help plan for event attendance properly. Tickets are free, donations are kindly accepted at the time of reservations through Eventbrite and at the event. To register, go here.
