Dellenback Dunes Hike

Dunes traversed by the Dellenback Trail.

The Southcoast Striders invite the public to explore the Oregon dunes via the Dellenback Dunes Trail. The hike takes place on Sunday, Oct. 16, starting at 10 a.m. at the trailhead next to the S. Eel Creek Campground, near Lakeside (about 15 miles north of Coos Bay/North Bend). 

This will be a hike from the trailhead to the beach and back (about 5 miles). It mainly takes us across the dunes, then through a forested area, and then to the beach. Hikers may choose to spend additional time at the beach. In the past there has been the option to hike south on the beach and then along ten mile creek, looping back to the main trail. If someone volunteers to lead that hike (which is about 9 miles), South Coast Striders will offer that as an option. Email hikes@coostrails.com if you wish to volunteer.

This hike is free and open to all. Registration is required.
