On Saturday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m., Shoreline Education for Awareness (SEA) is hosting a hybrid seminar. SEA is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting education and awareness of shoreline habitats and the wildlife found on the southern Oregon Coast. The seminar will be held in person in the Sprague Room at the Bandon Library (1202 11th Street in Bandon). Zoom options will also be available.
The seminar features Darcy Grahek, a Master Naturalist and native plant nursery owner and operator. Darcy will speak about habitat loss on the coastal ecoregion and actions to restore native plants and pollinators.
About the speaker:
"Darcy Grahek is a native Oregonian, embraces her Lakota heritage, and is a lifelong gardener. Darcy has been working on south coast landscapes for 35 years, focusing mostly on native plants since 2005. Through Oregon State University Extension Service, she became a Master Naturalist in 2015 and a specialist of the Coastal Ecoregion. She currently owns and operates Stillwater Natives Nursery in Bandon and concentrates on propagating plants for pollinators. Darcy designed the pollinator garden at the US Fish and Wildlife offices at Bandon Marsh in 2019 and volunteers on a variety of projects to restore native habitat to the south coast."
This seminar is free and open to all. For more information about attending in person or online, visit the SEA website.
