King Tide Training and Guided Walk in Seaside

Volunteer Coordinator Fawn Custer has scheduled a series of north coast talks and walks to help CoastWatchers and other interested people gear up for the final round of this winter’s King Tide Project (January 10-12).  Fawn will share background information on this international project along with techniques that will help us document the highest reach of the year’s extreme tides. 

One event takes place Sunday, January 8, at 1 p.m. at the Seaside Public Library (1131 Broadway St).  Fawn will discuss the significance of this citizen science project and what it can tell us about the coast’s future, and explain what kinds of photos will be most helpful and how to participate.

Weather permitting, the talk will be followed by a beachwalk, during which Fawn will demonstrate the King Tide Project and discuss other citizen science projects.  To join the beachwalk if not attending the talk first, meet at the parking lot between 11^th and 12^th at their western end by the shore (the cross street is N. Downing).
