Environmental Lobby Day in Salem

Mark the date:  on Thursday, March 23, the conservation community will gather in Salem for Environmental Lobby Day at the State Capitol.

During every session of the Oregon Legislature, the Oregon Conservation Network (of which Oregon Shores is a member) holds a Lobby Day.  Conservationists travel from around the state for background talks on key legislative issues and training in lobbying legislators in the morning, then team up by legislative district for group lobbying sessions in the afternoon.

Legislation addressing climate change, the future of the Elliott State Forest, suction dredge mining and other matters of key concern to the Oregon coast will be on the agenda.  Details aren’t known as yet.  Watch this space, but meanwhile, mark your calendars.
