The last of our celebrations of a successful King Tide Project for winter 2016-2017 takes place in Cannon Beach on Friday, February 10, at 5:30 p.m., hosted by the Pacific Coast Brewing Company (264 Third St.).  Everyone is welcome to come:  share in comestibles, quaff no-host libations, enjoy the company, view this year’s photographs documenting the highest reach of the highest tides of the year, and learn more about the project’s background and significance .  A special invitation is extended to those who participated by taking photographs—please attend to view your work and discuss it with others.

Our special speaker is Laura Brown, a shellfish biologist with the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians.  She will discuss how climate change will affect the peoples who have inhabited our coast the longest, and in particular how it will affect the coastal resources on which they depend.

There is no charge for the event, although a $5 (or more!) donation would be appreciated.
