As part of the “COOS—Celebration of Oregon Science” schedule in conjunction with the national March for Science, a talk by Alan Shanks on “The Grand (?) Experiment:  Global Climate Change” will take place at the Seven Devils Brewery (247 S. 2nd St.) in Coos Bay at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19.  The “Pub Science Night” is free and open to the public.

Dr. Shanks is an oceanographer and professor of biology at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology in Charleston.  He is known for his studies of the productivity of the ocean and how it affects species such as crabs important to humans.
