A consortium of conservation groups is organizing a Rally for Water & Wildlife at Oregon’s State Capitol at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19.

Groups including Oregon Wild, Cascadia Wildlands, the Sierra Club, Rogue Riverkeeper, and Beyond Toxics seek to put more pressure on legislators to protect the state’s resources.  Speakers include state representatives David Gomberg and Pam Marsh, Lisa Arkin of Beyond Toxics, Francis Eatherington of Cascadia Wildlands and others.

On the coast, the Rockaway Beach Citizens for Watershed Protection are actively supporting the rally.  Like many communities in the pathway of pesticide spraying, they are advocating for a set of proposed laws that would better regulate this practice, including HB 3226, the “Modernizing Oregon’s Forest Practices Act.”
