CoastWatch is joining forces with Surfrider, State Parks and other sponsors to stage a BioBlitz for the Otter Rock Marine Reserve area. BioBlitzes are one-day, intensive citizen science efforts to catalogue all species in a particular place at a particular time. This one is particularly important to us, because we have made the Otter Rock reserve a special focus of our citizen science projects.
The BioBlitz will run from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Join local scientists and other citizens to help better understand our marine reserves. Participants will use cameras and smartphones to upload their tidepool discoveries to our Otter Rock Species List! Meet at Devils Punchbowl State Natural Area next to the restrooms.
We’ll provide more details closer to the date. If you would like more information or want to RSVP about participating, contact Fawn Custer, (541) 270-0027, fawn@oregonshores.org.
