Opponents of natural gas pipelines and LNG (liquefied natural gas) projects around the nation, led by the Delaware Riverkeeper Network, have organized a 2017 Pipeline Webinar Series, titled “Defeating Shale Gas Infrastructure: Strategies and Tools for Communities.”  The next in the series, coming up July 18 at 6:30 p.m., focuses on legislative attacks on the National Environmental Policy Act and other laws that are important to those confronting pipeline issues.

Presenters are Raul Garcia of Earthjustice and Stephen Schima of Save Our Environment.

In the fight against pipelines, compressors and LNG export facilities, The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is one of the primary mechanisms communities can use to fully understand and vet the impacts of an infrastructure proposal and to make the case that a project should not be approved by the powerful agency that is FERC.  Learn more during the webinar about the value of and threats to NEPA and other attacks on the pipeline permitting process and what you can do to protect it from rollbacks.
