Cape Perpetua Volunteer Appreciation
Many CoastWatchers survey miles in the Cape Perpetua area, and more CoastWatchers and other Oregon Shores members participate in citizen science projects in the vicinity of the Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve. All those who have been involved in any way as volunteers or staff members of organizations working to protect the Cape Perpetua area, both onshore and offshore, are invited to the Fall 2017 Volunteer Appreciation event, taking place Friday, Sept. 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Yachats Commons (on Highway 101 in downtown Yachats).
The invitation is also extended to new and prospective volunteers. Surfrider and Portland Audubon sponsor the event, and welcome everyone from visitor center and trail docents, to Whale Watch volunteers, to CoastWatchers and citizen scientists, to the staffs of the public agencies with responsibilities in the area.
Food and drink will be provided. RSVP to www.tinyurl.com/capeparty2017.
Audubon Society and Surfrider Foundation will provide some brief updates on developing partnership work at Cape Perpetua. Stop in for a drink or stay the whole time and mingle, this is a celebration for all those involved with monitoring, protecting and educating about the Cape Perpetua environment.
