Land-Sea Symposium
As every year, this is an opportunity to learn about the scientific research and conservation activities taking place in the Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve and the surrounding lands onshore.
Keynote speaker will be oceanographer William Pearcy of Oregon State University, sharing the results of his research and discussing the significance of Heceta Bank offshore.
The final agenda has yet to be revealed, but count on a social mixer at the start, a poster session to tour, a range of interesting speakers, the opportunity to network with a multitude of conservation group and resource agency representatives, along with local citizens working to protect the area, and a chance to learn about volunteer opportunities. CoastWatch Volunteer Coordinator Fawn Custer will be tabling there, so this would be a chance to cross paths with her, ask questions, or volunteer to adopt a mile.
