The year’s first set of highest high tides, and thus the first round of our King Tide Project, is coming up Nov. 4-6.  Volunteer photographers can participate anywhere, but if you will be on the central coast and would like some companionship, moral support (especially if it’s raining), and perhaps some last-minute instruction, CoastWatch Volunteer Coordinator Fawn Custer has an invitation for you.  She will be getting together with participants on the second day of the tide series, Sunday, Nov. 5, at the Depoe Baykery (3830 N. Highway 101 in Depoe Bay).  Wander in any time between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. to enjoy coffee, tea, and baked goods (no host), and map out locations to photograph the highest reach of the tides, taking place shortly thereafter.  You can then head out singly or with others.

High tide at nearby Otter Rock is at 11:47 a.m., so if you’re are headed toward that vicinity you’ll want to join Fawn closer to 10:30.

For more information, about the rendezvous or about the King Tide Project in general, contact Fawn at (541) 270-0027, fawn@oregonshores.org.
