Ordinarily, a meeting of the state’s Land Conservation and Development Commission (LCDC) would be featured in our Land Use section.  However, the body’s upcoming session in Florence, Nov. 15-17, at the Florence Events Center (717 Quince St.) includes important ocean-related topics.

During the first day’s session, Nov. 15, beginning at 1 p.m., LCDC will consider sea level rise and its potential impacts on Oregon Estuaries.  There will also be a discussion of tsunami resilience planning.

On the second day, Nov. 16, which begins at 9 a.m., the commission will take up the subject of the state’s Rocky Shore Management Strategy, as part of the Territorial Sea Plan (Goal 19).

Public comments will be accepted on all these topics.
