Dr. Lillie, a retired Oregon State University professor of geosciences, is an expert on the Cascadian Subduction Zone and its effects on Oregon’s coastal terrain, notably the occasional massive earthquakes it triggers.  Lillie specializes in public interpretation of geology, particularly in terms of the landscape of parks and what it can tell visitors.
