Shoreline Education for Awareness (SEA) invites the public to join them for their Annual Puffin Party, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 28, at Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint (on Beach Loop Rd. just south of its intersection with Face Rock Dr.) in Bandon.  The event is part of SEA's 2018 Coastal Education Series.

Each year, SEA presents this fun and educational hands-on event to afford the public an opportunity to learn from volunteers and experts about one of the most elusive coastal seabirds, the Tufted Puffin. Through the lens of a spotting scope, visitors can spy the any birds possibly nesting among the offshore sea stacks (part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge). There is also plenty of opportunity to observe other varieties of seabirds and pinnipeds, or perhaps even spot a whale! Learn from experts about the species you see and how each integrates into the coastal environment. This is an educational experience for people of all ages, especially children, who receive special SEA Children Activity Packets. Hot chocolate and cookies are always on hand to take off the spring chill.
