The Portland Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is hosting an Earth Day event featuring a little clean-up, a little surf and a lot of community fun. This action day provides an opportunity to give back to mother earth and the beaches we call home on the Oregon coast.

The plan is to spend two hours on beach clean-up and minor Oswald West State Park restoration projects. Volunteers will then be treated to a Surfrider PDX-sponsored bonfire and BBQ on the beach.

Plan to bring your work clothes, some friends (and a surfboard, if that's your sport). Please RSVP so they can get an accurate headcount for food and volunteers.

About Surfrider Portland: The Portland Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation’s work is focused keeping it clean upstream through their programs including #DitchTheStrawPDX, Ocean Friendly Restaurants, Green Streets, Hold On To Your Butt programs and our Blue Water Task Force water quality monitoring program out on the north coast. Chapter meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month beginning at 7 p.m. The meetings are open to the public and family friendly.
