The Rocky Shores Working Group of the Ocean Policy Advisory Council will meet in Newport on April 16 to continue their review of Oregon’s policies protecting our rocky shore intertidal areas. The meeting takes place from 9 a.m. to noon in the Gleason Room of the Oregon Coast Aquarium (2820 S.E. Ferry Slip Rd.). As a public meeting, the event is open to everyone.
The working group is reviewing all of Oregon’s policies governing rocky shores, as part of the state’s Territorial Sea Plan. For more information on this ongoing process, see our article.
A public comment period, during which people can make comments to OPAC concerning rocky shore protection, begins at 11:45 a.m.
It is possible to call in to the meeting or join online at https://zoom.us/j/977488603. For more on how to do this, or for other questions concerning the meeting contact Deanna Caracciolo, Rocky Shores Fellow with the Oregon Coastal Management Program, (503) 934-0026, deanna.caracciolo@state.or.us.
