OPAC Meeting
The first 2018 meeting of Oregon Ocean Policy Advisory Council takes place on Thursday, April 26, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Coos History Museum (1210 N. Front St.) in Coos Bay.
Two agenda items are of particular interest to Oregon Shores members and other coastal conservationists: at 10:40 a.m. the council is scheduled to discuss the ongoing review of planning policies for the state's rocky shore habitats, and at 1:30 the proposal by the Trump administration to open our waters to oil and gas drilling will be discussed. Toward the end of the afternoon, the council was engage in a "visioning" session to consider OPAC's direction over the next several years.
