The state’s Ocean Policy Advisory Council (OPAC) is working on an update of Oregon’s policies concerning rocky shore protection.  A series of public hearings on the new draft rocky shores management strategy has been held, but there is still time to comment via e-mail.  Public comments are being accepted through Monday, March 25. Comments will be accepted through 11:59 p.m.

For a link to the text of the policy document, and other links to sources of information, go here.

Members of the public can comment on rocky shore protection policies at TSP.Comments@state.or.us.  You can comment at any time, but to have comments included for consideration in the current process of reviewing the draft strategy, it is necessary to file them by the stroke of midnight on March 25.

For questions, contact Deanna Caracciolo, Rocky Shores Coordinator, Oregon Coastal Management Program, (503)934-0026, deanna.caracciolo@state.or.us.
