Oregon’s Land Conservation and Development Commission (LCDC) will consider the newly emerging Rocky Habitat Management Strategy at its next meeting, March 23-24 in Salem.
A public hearing to give people on the coast a chance to weigh in prior to that meeting will be held Wednesday, May 22, from 4-6 p.m. at the Agate Beach Inn (3019 N. Coast Hwy) in Newport.
This is, in official terms, the geographic rulemaking hearing for Territorial Sea Plan Part 3. It is also a hearing for Part 5 of the plan, which has to do with ocean energy development. A hearings office will be present to collect public testimony for LCDC to consider during its session on the following days, where it may adopt the new strategy. All are welcome to submit public testimony on the proposed rulemaking.
