CoastWatch Citizen Science Trainer Fawn Custer and Volunteer Coordinator Jesse Jones are teaming up to guide a beachwalk at the Manhattan Beach State Recreation Site at the north end of Rockaway (the area known as Nedonna Beach) on Saturday, Oct. 26.  Meet them at 3 p.m. at the trailhead in the parking lot at the state park.  The walk is free and open to all; dress for the weather, of course.

The walk will primarily be focused on shoreline natural history, but will also be a good chance to learn about CoastWatch or ask questions about monitoring the shore (or any other burning questions you may have about the coast).

While at the state recreation site, take a look at the memorial for George Diel, Oregon Shores’ first executive director.

For information about this event, contact Jesse Jones, (503) 989-7244, jesse@oregonshores.org.
