Parking Plan Town Hall
The Tillamook County Board of Commissioners has organized a Town Hall concerning the controversial Pacific City/Woods Parking Management Plan. The session takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 6 p.m., at the Kiawanda Community Center (34600 Cape Kiwanda Dr.) in Pacific City.
The plan will cover the next 20 years, including funding mechanisms and enforcement strategy. The town hall provides the public with an opportunity for feedback.
The issue that will most concern those who care about the shoreline involves what to do with the Pacific City Turnaround. At present there is an informal “parking lot” there, on the inland side of the dune, and vehicles can drive across the dune. There is a proposal to improve the parking lot and delineate its boundaries more clearly, and there is also a proposal to eliminate beach access for vehicles.
