Explore the autumn beach with Fawn Custer, CoastWatch’s citizen science trainer, on Saturday, Nov. 16, when she will lead a walk on Manzanita Beach.  Meet her at 9 a.m. at the ocean end of Laneda Ave. in Manzanita.  The event, free and open to all, should last until about 10:30.

This beachwalk takes place the morning after our King Tide Kick-Off party in Nehalem (see separate listing), before winter high tides, including the first series of “king tides” on Nov. 25-27, begin rearranging the shoreline landscape.

Fawn will provide an introduction to coastal natural history and describe all the materials washed up in the driftline (aka wrackline), and also discourse on CoastWatch and answer any questions.
