We are the in the midst of the 30-day public comment period for the updated Rocky Habitat Management Strategy, which has been going through a lengthy drafting period over the past couple of years. The Oregon Coastal Management Program (a branch of the Department of Land Conservation and Development) is hosting a number of public comment sessions during February. The one on Friday, Feb. 21, 2-3 p.m., is entirely online, a webinar open and accessible to all that will inform participants about the plan itself and about how to participate in commenting on the plan or nominating sites for protection.

See below for the various methods of joining the webinar.

The meetings, including this webinar, provide background information on the current drafting process for the Rocky Habitat plan (technically a revision of Part Three of Oregon’s Territorial Sea Plan), and feature demonstrations of the Rocky Habitat Web Mapping Tool along with guidance on the process for proposing changes to rocky habitat site management designations.
