Gray Whale Webinar
One of the longest mammal migrations in the world takes place just off the Oregon coast twice a year. An upcoming webinar explores the lives of gray whales, the creatures whale-watchers see most often, which are in the midst of these epic migrations. The online event is hosted by the Friends of Cape Falcon Marine Reserves at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7.
Featured speaker Amanda Zimmerman is a naturalist with the American Cetacean Society. Her lifelong passion for whales has fueled travel across the globe from the Arctic to the Antarctic.
The mission of the Friends of Cape Falcon Marine Reserve is to increase understanding and appreciation of the marine reserve, located off of Oswald West State Park between Cannon Beach and Manzanita. The group coordinates education events and promotes scientific research in the area through a number of community science projects.
