Seminar on Climate and Estuaries

Oregon State University’s Department of Integrative Biology offers a chance to listen in on academia while learning something about how climate change and other impacts may affect our estuaries.  A thesis defense seminar by PhD candidate Caitlin Magel will take place online on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.

The seminar is entitled “Interaction of climate and human-driven changes in Pacific Northwest estuaries:  Perspectives from seagrass and salmon.”

Magel is seeking her PhD in estuarine ecology, and specializes in studying the ecology and ecosystem services of Northwest estuaries to better understand how they interact with environmental changes caused by people. She is a 2020 National Estuarine Research Reserve Margaret A. Davidson Graduate Fellow.
