Online Research Summit

Determined to demonstrate that social distancing does not prevent the spread of ideas, the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) is moving its 2020 Research Summit online. This informative and interactive half-day event will be online from 1-5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20.

The Summit will provide an opportunity for the marine science community to reconnect and learn about and engage with the diversity of research, researchers, and programs that make Hatfield Marine Science Center a unique institution. Introductory presentations by selected HMSC researchers on contemporary areas of exploration will be followed by small, thematic group discussions. In these groups, students and professionals will share ideas, insights, questions, and resources to facilitate ongoing research and inspire new collaborations. All Summit participants are invited to join these discussion groups, and members of the public can sit in and watch over the scientists’ virtual shoulders.
